Tiphereth

Tiphereth is my submission for the 2024 Digital Design Challenge with the prompt “Together We Thrive”. While Tiphereth was made with the prompt in mind, it was also created to exist as a sequel to my previous submission Chesed. The story follows an insert for the player discovering an Angel in their back yard named Tiphereth. She reveals to the player that they and everyone around them are living in a dream, something previously menGoned in Chesed. It is up to the player and her to work together to convince and unite the people of the town to break out of the dream before it collapses. The player does not need to have played Chesed to understand Tiphereth’s story, but they both contribute to each other.

The project was made in Twine and features mulGple endings and several choices that the player can complete in any order. As I had done a twine project for my previous entry, I wanted to explore some more features such as the lock and key system, locking the player out of a choice unGl they’ve completed three branching paths.

Tiphereth uses the prompt of Together We Thrive by showing the importance of connecGon. The player character is established to be rather lonely, having liKle social interacGon outside of their job. The Angel Tiphereth becomes close to the player, with the two of them becoming familiar with each other over Gme. The player must also reach out to others around them to weaken the dream. Tiphereth’s sacrifice at the end of the story is what allows the dream to be broken, and the player keeps her close to their heart as they use this experience to become closer to others as they work to rebuild the world they lost.

I also made quick song for the Gtle of the game called ‘O Tiferet’. I had made it before I seKled on the story, but I sGll believe it captures one of the many vibes I was going for with this project. Overall, I am quite happy with my final product, some areas do feel a bit rushed looking back but they were mainly created during my lower energy parts of the challenge.
